Top 5 Noninvasive Anti-Aging Procedures for Youthful Skin

Anti-aging cosmetic procedures can help reduce wrinkles, tighten skin and even improve skin tone. The best option for you depends on your needs and concerns.

Looking younger is a goal shared by many. The Beauty Now Laser & Skin Aesthetics team has the skills and expertise to recommend needle-free cosmetic treatments to revitalize your skin.

    Botox

While many celebrities keep their beauty secrets to themselves, it’s common to hear about the preventative use of neuromodulators like Botox. Botox is one of the best anti aging procedures. It is a quick, noninvasive procedure that reverses mild signs of aging at the injection site and helps keep new wrinkles from forming.

During the procedure, the certified professional will inject a small amount of Botulinum toxin into the targeted area using a fine needle. The injections are almost painless. However, to ensure you don’t feel anything, your practitioner may use anesthetic cream or ice on the skin to numb it first.

The Botulinum toxin stops a chemical from being released in the muscles, which causes them to contract and create lines. The injections relax the muscles and smooth out wrinkles for a younger-looking complexion.

In addition to its cosmetic benefits, the same neurotoxin used in Botox can also help with chronically cold hands, neck spasms and Bell’s palsy. This condition causes paralysis on one side of the face. The results of these injectable treatments last several months.

    CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is a fat-freezing procedure that permanently destroys unwanted fat cells. This revolutionary body-contouring treatment is FDA-cleared and involves no needles, surgery or downtime.

The technology behind the treatment is called cryo lipolysis, a process that kills fat cells with cold without damaging the surrounding tissue. Harvard researchers discovered the technique by studying children with dimples on their cheeks from eating popsicles.

During your CoolSculpting treatment, you will sit or lie comfortably while the applicator is placed on the targeted area. The procedure is painless, and many patients read, work or nap during the session. The numbness from the system will wear off within a few minutes afterward, and once your treatment is over, you can return to your normal activities.

You will be able to see results in as little as three weeks. Those results will continue to improve for up to six months as your body eliminates the dead cells. CoolSculpting can help to tighten sagging skin and minimize bags under the eyes, making you look more youthful.

    Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a resurfacing treatment that refreshes your skin and helps you achieve the desired anti-aging results. Chemical peels remove dead skin cells, revealing fresh new skin with fewer fine lines and less sun damage. Chemical peels can also help improve acne and reduce scaly patches and oily skin.

A light chemical peel can be done regularly to reduce fine wrinkling, uneven skin coloring and dry, rough, sun-damaged skin. It can also improve mild to moderate acne.

Medium and deep chemical peels can treat sun-damaged skin, dark spots and scars and help smooth moderate wrinkles. They can also reduce scaly patches, dull complexion, blotchy skin, and precancerous scaly growths called actinic keratosis.

The deeper the peel, the more extensive preparation and recovery are needed. It is important to talk with your dermatologist and understand your goals before deciding on the depth of peel for your skin condition. Also, be sure to tell your doctor if you have any history of keloids, cold sores that keep reoccurring or facial X-rays.

    Radiofrequency Treatments

RF treatments, also known as radio-frequency skin tightening, are similar to chemical peels, but instead of refreshing the skin’s surface, they heat deep within the tissue. This causes the skin to contract and stimulate new collagen growth, tightening sagging skin.

A 2022 systematic review shows that RF treatment enhances epidermal hyperplasia and induces fibroblast proliferation. The heating and new collagen growth reduce wrinkles, scarring, and sagging skin on the face. The body can also be treated to minimize cellulite and reduce textural issues like stretch marks.

There are many ‘types’ of RF machines and treatments, but the best one depends on what you want it to do. Having the right practitioner is also important, as a badly-used, cheap or untrained machine can cause burns and unwanted fat loss.

Among the most popular RF treatments are full-face ‘polar’ RF machines (made famous by Morpheus 8 and Focus Dual) and monopolar RF machines that target the subcutaneous layer of the skin to contract fat cells and tighten the tissue. Also, a favorite is ‘radiofrequency micro needling,’ which improves tone and texture by stimulating new collagen without requiring numbing cream.

    Ultherapy

The Ultherapy system utilizes micro-focused ultrasound for noninvasive skin tightening in the face, neck, and decolletage. Using an imaging module to guide the treatment, ultrasound waves penetrate deeper into the skin without damaging the surface layer. The ultrasound energy heats the collagen in the deep skin tissues. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process for new, firmer, and smoother skin.

The aging process slows down the production of natural collagen, resulting in loose and thin skin. Over time, the body stops producing collagen, leading to sagging and wrinkles. This treatment reverses the effects of aging by targeting the root cause of the problem, causing your body to produce brand-new collagen over two to three months.

This procedure is recommended for people 30 or older with early sagging and drooping skin signs. It is a great alternative to surgery, as it is the only FDA-cleared treatment for lifting sagging skin on the eyebrow, under the chin, and in the neck area, as well as smoothing fine lines and wrinkles on the chest.
